Gratitude

“The day you stop being grateful is the day you stop being happy”

Thich Nhat Hanh

Try this exercise, especially when you’re feeling out of sorts, low in mood, unable to focus, etc.

The tiniest things can boost your mood. You may not even notice, but keep on practising and you will create a new neural pathway in the brain that helps wellbeing to take over negative thinking. Whenever you notice something that creates a pleasant feeling, jot it down and keep an ‘appreciation list’ so you can draw from this when you do the ten finger gratitude exercise.
