Courses in 2024: MBSR

New MBSR course starting Spring 2024.

Currently offering free taster sessions at the Bodywork Centre, Hexham, Northumberland. These are on Wednesday mornings from 10.45 - 10.30am.

The intention of the MBSR course is to enable you to learn how to embrace life in the present, letting go of worrying about the future, or dwelling on the past. Each week you will learn how to meditate through a variety of practices, which include sitting, standing, moving/stretching, walking and lying down. You learn how to become aware of your body and its physical sensations, as well as its connection to emotions and thoughts. Most importantly, you will be training how to manage the habits of the mind, so that you gradually become more adept at noticing when the mind wanders and learn how to observe your thoughts, instead of getting caught up in them.

Please note that once you have submitted your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview prior to being accepted on the course. This will be held on zoom to enable us to meet, chat together and decide whether this is the right time for you to attend mindfulness training. If you don’t have a zoom account and would like to attend a face to face course, we can arrange a chat by telephone.

Silent Retreat Day (open to all those who’ve completed an 8 week course or for those nearing completion of the MBSR):

Fee for Day retreat: £35 (concessions £15*)

8-Week Course Fees:

£295* (includes 8 weekly sessions, course materials and audio-recorded guided meditations)
