What I offer

As an experienced doctor of counselling psychology, I draw from a number of evidence-based approaches to provide therapy that is tailored to suit your personal needs. We all get lost at times and can benefit from help to find our way. You and I will work creatively together in a setting that encompasses warmth, compassion and safety. To find out more go to the Psychology Service link above.

In addition to individual and couples therapy, I am also a qualified mindfulness teacher, offering both mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). To find out more go to the Mindfulness link above.

All courses and sessions can be offered online or in-person.

Mindfulness Teacher and Chartered Counselling Psychologist.

I’m registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have over thirty years’ experience of offering psychological therapy, having worked both independently and for the NHS in adult mental health, with specialist experience of issues affecting older people. I am particularly interested in relational dynamics, compassion focused therapy, the connection between mind, body and spirit and keeping an open mind to work collaboratively with you to facilitate your recovery and wellbeing. In addition, I am registered with the British Association for Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA) and have over ten years of experience teaching courses in mindfulness as well as personal meditation coaching.

I have a passion for immersing myself in different cultures and learning new languages. In my spare time I work with voluntary organisations to challenge social injustice (at home and abroad), support refugees and indigenous peoples, as well as tackle climate change.

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality”

“ In a situation where there is injustice and oppression there can be no neutrality. You have to take sides and ask yourself: am I on the side of justice or am I on the side of injustice”
